One of the flower sets belonging to The Queen Of The Andes plants, found only in Peru and Bolivia at altitudes up to 9,800 and 15,750 feet (3,000 and 4,800 meters).

As the conditions are so barren, the plant needs time to build up the resources with which it produces the flowering and reproduces. That's why it's so slow and takes 50 or 100 years to bloom!

But the plant's one-time flowering is very fruitful: A single plant will produce up to ten million seeds!

Retaining the memory of the land and the reproducing mechanism for so long is not an easy feat.
